Hi, I’m David Lynch.

No, not that one. But I do make videos (and other content too)!

You might know me as one of the guys in the viral video 7 iPhone Settings You Need To Turn Off Now.

But it’s more likely that you don’t know me at all. Here’s my story…the short version, anyway.

I started creating content in college, when I made a free WordPress website posting picks for a small daily fantasy sports website called DraftFury. After making a few hundreds dollars from new user referrals, I realized I could have a career in content.

In 2016, after graduating summa cum laude from the SUNY Albany Honors College, I worked as a pool attendant and pizza delivery guy (that’s not a euphemism, I actually worked those jobs).

In my free time, I started a political YouTube channel where I analyzed polls and created electoral college maps. It was a lot of fun, and I made some money in the process.

It was around this time I began working for Payette Forward, Inc., where I’d work for the next six and a half years.

During that time, I outlined, wrote, edited, and published articles for PayetteForward.com and UpPhone.com. Those earned more than 35 million pageviews.

As the company became more focused on video content, I researched topics, outlined and scripted videos, performed on screen, set up videos in YouTube Studio, and leveraged analytics to constantly improve performance. During my tenure, the YouTube channel grew from about 1,000 subscribers to more than 1.34 million, earning nearly 200 million views.

What’s next?

More of the same, I hope. I’m working on several personal projects, which you can read more about in the first edition of my newsletter. They’re projects I’m passionate about, and they allow me to test new content strategies and ideas.

I hope you’ll check them out, and subscribe if you really like them.
